So I am not sure how to tackle this. My head is built on a balaclava base with foam with elastic to keep it level on my head, and to allow free movement of the jaw. However, after taking it out for a test run at a local furmeet, I ran into a problem: the head has a tendency to slide down my neck, and pull the muzzle up towards my forehead. It obscures my vision and looks a bit silly whenever I have to readjust it every few minutes. I'm able to obscure it well with gestures, but I'd rather not have to worry about it at all.
It isn't too big for my head as it fits rather snug around my crown, but I worry the material I bought for the balaclava (I made my own with lycra) might be too slippery against my hair. Even using a second balaclava (with less slippery lycra) isn't helping much. Since I can't just rip out the fabric, how can I fix this? Would a weight hidden in the neck or nose help? Or maybe velcro strips sewn into both balaclavas to anchor them together while I'm suiting?
Any tips would be appreciated!
