I decided to work with fleece yet again on my project due to time and money constraints (haha, go figure), but I believe it'll suit my needs as I wanted to create something really cartoony anyway.
But with using fleece, there comes another issue- my character is particularly fluffy around the neck and I'm unsure as to how to approach making it. I've considered making a foam neck piece or just using polyfill in a cover, which is what I'm leaning towards right now.
Here's a link to the image showing my character's fluffy collar: http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/283/1/4/tell_me__is_it_u_gurl____by_koshi_doshi-d5hg033.png
But how would I go about sewing the individual spikes and making it look convincing either way? Any tips at the very least? Should I try something else? Keep in mind that I'm using fleece as well, though I might purchase some white fur just for this..I dunno what I'm gonna do yet.
