Attaching ears to a resin based fursuit head?

I'm almost ready to attach my fursuit ears to my head, and I was just lost as to the best way to apply the ears to the head.

I'm unsure which method would be better, glueing it to the base itself after they are furred, or sewing them into the hood. My concern with the second method is the stability of the ears, and whether or not they would stand up on their own. I'm open for any and all suggestions, thanks!
