How common are fans in fursuits?

HI everybody
I am working on a fennec fox head made on a foam and balaclava base. I hollowed out the upper muzzle because
this is where I was going to put in a fan to keep cool. I wired up a computer fan for the suit head.
Using the thin hollowed foam, I realized that putting in the fan makes everything heavier, distorts the shape of the foam muzzle, makes it crooked,
and overall is a bit too big fir the suit muzzle.

Another problem is that if I try to squish it in, by folding the plastic mesh it is all attached to, it makes a very rickety sound,
and you can hear the fan from far away when its not all creaky sounding anyways, making the base sound loudish as well.

The head is the exact size that I need so I am hoping not to enlarge something such as the muzzle.

I am wondering, how common are fans inside of fursuit heads? Is it HIGHLY recommended to have one?
Would not having one be a terrible idea? on average, how many popular suit makers use them?
I would also be goofing around in suit alot and would not want children to hear the fan/hit the fan against my nose)

This would be my first head with one, and it doesn't quite fit, you can hear it when its working normally, and it's heavy...
most annoying though, it shows out of the muzzle and distorts the muzzle shape.
Should I really use one? I'm really thinking against it now..
