Gray Fox, Reworked

I ended up changing around this costume a little after receiving some feedback, now I like it much better!

Before, it had glass taxidermy eyes. I painted them myself and they came out kind of messy looking, and the eyes weren't quite focused. I also picked a troublesome shape, slit pupil. It was just a mess and while I could have just reworked the existing eyes, I figured it would look better to just make completely new eyes and try again with the taxidermy eyes on another project. Another added benefit of replacing the eyes is that the vision is better, since before the glass eyes obstructed the wearer's view. :)

I also added whiskers made of horsehair (thanks Crystumes!!!!) I haven't done whiskers in a long time, I definitely had my reservations about them, but now I like them. I threaded some of them through the mask with a carpet needle, but that was a rather irritating process with a low success rate, so I eventually switched to parting the fur and putting the tiniest dab of glue against the backing and pressing the whiskers in.

Closeup of an ear, because they're floofy and cute. Someone pointed out the ears go out to the sides a bit much, but there's nothing that can be done about that now. I don't think it's horribly distracting, personally. Maybe the fox is just feeling a little submissive.

Pics of the partial, all together.

And here's a video showing the various parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgcAX2a_A9Y&feature=youtu.be

It is for auction right now, ends Sunday: http://www.thedealersden.com/auction_details.php?name=gray-fox-partial-by-lobitaworks&auction_id=113313
